As comment to my post regarding Netvibes Olo has asked me to check their own implementation of Ajax Desktop application known as Pageflakes. Funny thing is that is very similar to Netvibes in many aspects and overall behaviour. Pageflakes offers a lot of additional modules, which are much better configurable than Netvibes. It also allows to share content tabs what is nice. It looks that it is more mature and supported by community than Netvibes. But it lacks some very handy features (or i have simply missed them):

• in RSS reader posts that were read should be in different color
• Netvibes shows after the tab name - number of unread RSS posts - very handy
• POP3 mail module - to access some custom email accounts quickly

So in my eyes the perfect solution would be Pageflakes with these 3 things written above and color scheme from Netvibes ;) Anyway - check it out - it is worth it.
